I've been seeing bumper stickers with this date on it for over a year now. Well before we ever thought for a minute that Barack Obama would be our new president. Of course, that was a celebration of the last day that Bush would be allowed to stamp his feet at the back door of the White House and help himself to the free pens in the Oval Office. Now, he's just a regular citizen like me.
That date's relevance seemed to change dramatically once we knew who was going to be the new family residing at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Julie and I celebrated by joining the hundreds of folks up at the University of California Berkeley in Sproul Plaza. They toted out the jumbo-tron and we all basked in the glow of the inauguration. The feeling was magical. Hope it lasts. Or is that: Hope - it lasts.
That date's relevance seemed to change dramatically once we knew who was going to be the new family residing at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
