You cannot be at
Steep Ravine Cabins in West Marin without having an intimate relationship with the ocean. The place is a handful of rustic cabins perched above the Pacific, just south of Stinson Beach. Friends Casey and Jen set it up, in part for celebrating Jen's 40th birthday. It was a fantastic place (Jen's favorite) and we had a great time.

I love Steep Ravine. I spent the night there once too. One of my favorite photographers stayed there frequently - Dorothea Lange. It is incredible how close you are to the ocean. Too bad dogs aren't allowed!
Bummer about the no dog policy, but you can see why. We had to climb all over to get to certain spots... the dog wouldn't have been able to make it.
It's probably more because of the wildlife that dogs are not allowed. You'd be amazed at what some dogs can climb over. In fact, I just read in the paper about a dog that climbed a tree and was stuck 20 feet up!
