weekend whirlwind

On Saturday, I went for a 43-mile bike ride with my friends, the two Todds. Todd Jordan recently finished Ironman and Todd Elliot recently finished a century in Hawaii with Team in Traning. We all felt so happy to be back on the bikes. Todd Jordan is talking Death Ride, which he has done before. Ha. On Sunday, Craig and I woke up and said, it's time to build the patio. We're using a technique that we found in, ahem, Sunset magazine. You stain the pavers with 1 part each water, house paint, and cement sealant. We are using a design I found in a bathroom on campus - a nice random pattern with 4 colors. Before we can lay the pavers out though, we must dig up several more inches of clay ground to get them sunk correctly - and we have to buy roughly one sand dune of "paver sand".
