I worked a very long weekend, starting with a 14-hour day on Friday supporting the photographer at UC Berkeley's Homecoming weekend. I worked again on Saturday from 9 to 5, and then Craig met me and we went to our first Cal football game - we beat Oregon 45-24. Memorial stadium was packed - not a free seat in sight. And recent Nobel Prize-winner George Smoot led the crowd in a halftime cheer. I went back for more on Sunday to help with photographing two Cal Parent events. When I got home, Craig was waiting with a fence to be built. After a much-needed nap for me, we proceeded to finish the job. Since we got started late, but absolutely needed to get the fence up, we used the street lamp and an electrical lamp to support our efforts - and finished at about 9:30 p.m. We got the first phase finished - the wide boards - and will use the next week to complete the details. We hope to be able to show some of the fancy engineering Craig employed to use the existing hurricane fence posts - ingenious. Check out the Homecoming slide show. [update: this is the fence in process... the first pic has a small hint on what will happen in between the big boards]
