Tuolumne County for the night

We tossed a bunch of stuff into the car, packed the chains and headed up to the mountains for a day of snow and checking it all out. Julie really wanted to see the mountains and the snow. It was all I could do not to bring my snowboard (best snowfall in weeks), and we had a great time. The snow was coming down.

Emma took a second to try out the snow, but when she realized it was something she could jump around in, she loved it. At one point she spotted a couple deer walking across the trail a hundred yards ahead. I yelled for her to come back, but she had already taken off. Thought that might be the last time we see Emma, but she came back in a few seconds. Smart dog; she knows who feeds her.

We did try to sneak into Yosemite to have dinner in the Valley, but the road was closed because something like 12 cars slid off the road. We thought better of the idea... We headed back to the 12x10 cabin and watched a 13 inch TV and made dinner of things in cans. That big can Julie is opening is bread. Yep, bread in a can. Look for it at your favorite supermarket.

Shout out for breakfast on the way out of the foothills at Oakdale Cafe for their very delicious scramble. Filled me up till Oakland.
